Easy Candied Nuts Recipe (1)

I love eating warm candied nuts, and these are so delicious right out of the oven.

They will make the perfect little gift for your Valentine. Or better yet, enjoy them yourself. We were so surprised on how easy they are to make. You will love these crunchy sugar coated nuts.

I love putting these on my vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of caramel and a few semi sweet chocolate chips, but I also love them on my salads.

I could honestly eat a salad every day for the rest of my life, if you snuck these little sweet nuts in it. They make everything taste amazing.

could i make this recipe using any type of nut?

For this recipe, we used pecans. However, you could easily switch it up and use what ever nuts you have on hand. We recommend using pecans, but any nut really would work.

You could also try:

  • Almonds
  • Peanuts
  • Walnuts
  • Hazelnuts
  • Cashews

how long do these nuts stay good for?

Because these nuts are cooked and cooked in sugar, it does soften the nut quite a bit. For this recipe, we recommend eating them within 7-10 days of making them, for the best taste and texture. After that, they will just get a little too soft, that they won’t be as delicious.

However, I don’t think they will even last 7-10 days, so you have nothing to worry about.

what can i replace the egg white with?

We have only made this recipe using egg whites. Usually other recipes, the egg white would be fine to replace with applesauce or buttermilk, however, for this recipe, we do not recommend replacing it.

The egg white is really what gets the sweet cinnamon flavor to stick to the nut. You could try it, but we highly recommend using egg whites, where it’s a unique item to bake, with not many other combining ingredients.

Is there anything that I can use instead of the egg whites? Thanks in advance!

  3. Cyd says:

Hi Lisa, I'm not sure what you could use instead of egg whites. I googled egg white substitute but not sure how that would work with this candied nut recipe. It was more for baking. I would hate to have it flop because pecans are not cheap!! We have another delicious nut (almond) recipe but it has 1 egg white in it.
